The Prince George’s County Family Justice Center is an initiative of the Circuit Court that provides a comprehensive array of services for survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, human trafficking, and elder abuse through a coordinated, collaborative and HOPE-centered advocacy model. The Family Justice Center provides immediate, short term, and long term solutions through a “one-stop-shop” process.
A portion of the proceeds from Kappa Takeover 2018, a charity event at MGM National Harbor co-produced by five local Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. alumni chapters and related foundations, including Kappa Community Development Foundation, funded the purchase of new forensic equipment for the Prince George’s County Family Justice Center. The new equipment enabled the Center to deliver forensic exams to survivors of sexual assault.
Kappa Takeover has been on hiatus since 2020 because of the COVID-19 pandemic but will be back in 2022.
